I’m happy to report I made it out of St. Louis before the storm shut down all flights, and even happier to report I arrived home in Bra, a day earlier than originally planned.
The only hiccup was a delayed Munich-Torino flight, which made no difference because I caught the same train I planned from Torino to Bra, which only meant I waited longer in the Munich airport and less* in the Torino train station.
I’ve started to unpack, laughing at what I brought back in my almost-to-the-weight-limit suitcases. In addition to some warmer (and smaller) clothes, I brought not one but two paella pans (well, the smaller one is perfect for cooking for myself, but I need the bigger one if I make something for a group), a fondue pot, mixing bowls, lots of spices and spices mixes, some tinned fish, a pound of yeast, and a bunch of kitchen tools and implements. These are things left from closing Tale to Table, or things I haven’t seen here in Italy, or just things I want to use in my cooking.
Only one thing I neglected to pack (that I’ve identified so far), and that’s my extra contact lenses. Which just means I’ll have to pay a visit to a local eye doctor.
I won’t be back in St. Louis until at least July, maybe later depending on where I conduct my internship, and I needed to be fully equipped.
And who doesn’t need two paella pans?

* I don’t like mixing the non-parallel adjectives “longer” and “less,” but one wouldn’t ever “wait more” or “wait shorter.” Anyone have any thoughts about this?
Happy you arrived safe and sound with a lot of stuff. I know you will find a place for it all.
Enjoy your supper tonight and the day tomorrow. Very cold here.
