I can no longer say, ‘I have an apartment in Italy, but I’ve never been there.’
Got to the AirBnB in Turino late last night, and thank you Heidi for the wine and snacks and letting me stay there, AND for the ride to Bra this morning.
Arrived at Giovanni’s office - what a treat to meet this guy in person! - and then finally a short walk to my apartment. Just as I imagined from the pictures, comfy and clean. Still no electricity or gas, but here’s what I found.
Also, but not pictured, some pots and pans. Hooray for not needing to start from scratch!
And Giovanni II - my landlord’s name as well - said he has a small oven.
As I suspected, the bed has no sheets, but only a short walk away is an Everything Store. Small electronics, kitchen tools, craft supplies, but didn’t have time to see what else because I needed sheets, and got them. Back to the apartment, drop everything off, and then to the University for graduation, which seems an odd way to start, no?
